The enormous oil spill in San Francisco, CA is still a threat and a mystery. November 7th’s cargo ship collision is the worst oil spill to hit the area in 10 years. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is calling out for further investigation for the cause of the spill.

NYU was recognized by the EPA on October 22nd as a leader in Green Power purchases, meaning that NYU pimped out its campus with power from environmentally friendly renewable energy sources like solar, biomass and wind power.

Apparently a reality. Cadillac has come out with a new Hybrid Escalade SUV. Using Hybrid technology, the cars do away with their shockingly low fuel efficiency of 12 mpg, and upgrade to a more respectable 18 mpg. A Prius, on the other hand, runs at 46 mpg.

Australia’s newly elected PM, Kevin Rudd, has vowed to immediately sign the Kyoto Protocol, something his predecessor refused to do.  Rudd promised to make climate change a priority, and will be attending a conference on the topic in Bali within the next few weeks.

WOW! The energy we consume every day in our own homes massively impacts the US’s energy consumption.
